The owner, the income and the editorial rules behind this route, starting with the fact that its first stop is ours.

The company holding the pen

NexaPoints belongs to Bally's Park Place, LLC, 1900 Pacific Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ 08401. That company runs Bally's Atlantic City on Park Place and sits within Bally's Corporation. Notes for the editors land at contact@nexapoints.com.

Entries are researched and drafted by a small route desk. Hotels outside our own group have neither paid for coverage nor seen a draft before it went live.

Why our resort opens the route

Stop one, Bally's Atlantic City, is the publisher's own resort. It leads the route because of that ownership; nobody tested it against the others and we make no claim that it outclassed them.

Stop nine, Bally's Tiverton, is a sister hotel under the same parent group and is tagged with the words "Sister property (same parent group)" on the route and in the grid. The eight other hotels were placed by editorial judgement.

Where the money comes from

Outbound buttons to hotels can be tagged by referral partners. If one of those clicks ends in a booking, NexaPoints may collect a commission, and your rate stays what the hotel charges anyone. Stays at our own resort or the sister hotel also bring revenue to our group, link or no link. More on the earnings page.

How stops two to ten were chosen

The desk works from each hotel's official pages, its published house rules and state or regional tourism sources, and asks four questions:

  • Room: is the sleeping space comfortable, does it look at something worth seeing, and are its categories described plainly?
  • Leisure: what spa, swimming, dining and live music sit under the same roof?
  • Setting: what is outside the door, and which airport or highway brings you in?
  • Clarity: can a guest find the fees, the card hold and the age rule before paying?

Anything we could not verify stays out. That means no counted rooms, no rates, no build dates and no prizes, and no marks out of ten either. The casino floor counts for nothing in the order and is never described.

Background and sourcing

The people on the desk write about leisure travel between the Jersey Shore and southern New England. They prefer first-hand sources: the hotels' official sites, state tourism offices and published transport schedules. When something is unclear, the entry says so and sends you to the hotel.

Fixing what we get wrong

Seen something stale? Write to contact@nexapoints.com, naming the stop and the line in question. We recheck it against the hotel's own material, amend the wording if it needs it and move the revision stamp. A hotel may flag a factual slip; a hotel may not buy a better place.
